Why is L/100 km the other way around from mpg?
Miles per gallon measures distance for a given amount of fuel. Litres per 100 kilometres measures fuel for a given distance, so a more economical car has a higher mpg and a lower L/100 km.
What is the difference between mpg (US) and mpg (Imp)?
US miles per gallon use the US gallon. Imperial miles per gallon use the larger Imperial gallon, so the same number is not the same economy.
What happens if I enter 0 for L/100 km?
Zero in the same unit is valid. Converting zero into or out of L/100 km cannot produce a usable economy figure, so the converter shows an error instead of a result.
How precise are the conversion results?
